Abstract-The increasing academic pressures and competitive environment in higher education have led to a concerning rise in mental health challenges among research scholars. This paper explores the critical need to prioritize both mental and physical well-being among scholars to mitigate stress, anxiety, and the rising suicide cases in academia. By examining contributing factors such as workload, isolation, financial stress, and lack of institutional support, this study highlights the urgent need for holistic interventions. Through a review of existing literature and case studies, we propose strategies including mindfulness practices, mental health counseling, structured physical activity, and institutional policy reforms to foster a healthier academic ecosystem. The study also emphasizes the role of peer support, work-life balance, and digital mental health interventions in alleviating psychological distress. Addressing this issue is vital for ensuring a sustainable and productive research environment that nurtures both academic excellence and well-being.
