The implementation of the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) reservation in India has significantly influenced recruitment trends in government jobs. This paper aims to analyze the impact of the EWS reservation on employment patterns, representation, and socioeconomic mobility within the public sector. By examining recruitment data before and after the policy's introduction, this study evaluates its effectiveness, challenges, and long-term implications. The research employs a comparative approach to assess how EWS reservations have fared in contrast to existing SC/ST/OBC reservations and explores potential policy optimizations.
